Travel Evaluations 6/8. 9 AM – 10 AM

Please Note:
Do not compare your child to the other players in Rec and assume they aren’t good enough to compete at the travel level.  There were kids in Rec this season with 2007 birthdays.
As a reminder, if your child is a 2010 or 2011 birthday and is remotely interested in more competitive soccer, we’d like to see them at one of the evaluations this Saturday morning(6/8) from 9-10am.
Depending on how many kids turn out for evaluations and/or register for travel we could potentially have two U10 teams, one U9 team, and a U9-U10 Girls team.  Come on out and let’s see Big Spring Soccer have multiple young travel teams next season.
What this is NOT:
>tryouts
>penalty to your players abilities
>guarantee placement to a team
>commitment to play travel soccer
>removal tool from a team

What this IS:
>benchmark tool for measurement
>start points for coaches to individualize training/coaching
>benchmark tool for Director of Coaching (DoC) measuring coach effectiveness
>benchmark tool for DoC measuring Club program impact

Hope to see you there.  Have a good evening.

Save The Date – 2019 Picnic & Annual General Meeting

Good morning parents,

This is your invitation to this year’s Family Picnic.  This year it will be held on June 1st, in Pavilion #2 at the West Pennsboro Park.  Picnic will start at 2:30pm.  We’ll plan to eat around 3pm.

Items to note:

  • Eat at 3pm
  • BSYSA will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, and drinks.
  • U9 Families (Rec and Travel) please bring a dessert.
  • All other Families (U7, U10, and U12) please bring a side dish.
  • After we eat, presentation of awards (U9 Rec Tournament medals)
  • Then we’ll hold our AGM (Annual General Meeting)

o You’ll be voting on who the board members will be for the next year.

o Nominate and/or vote for who you want to hold different positions on the BSYSA board.  Vote to keep who you keep is doing a good job in their current position.  The power is in your hands.

o Positions open include Vice President, Secretary, Director of Coaching, Fields Director, Ways And Means Director, Equipment Director, Registrar, Recreational Program Coordinator

  • During the AGM we’ll have a kickball and throw bases for the kids to play a kickball game.  We’ll ask for a couple of parent to keep an eye on that game so it doesn’t get out of hand.
  • After the AGM, if the crowd is interested, we’ll get a parents versus kids’ kickball game going.

Note, if you’re a U9 Rec parent our tournament that day will take us right up the picnic.  Rather than have you run back home to retrieve your food for the picnic, Giant foods has donated a refrigerated truck for us to keep our food in during the tournament.

Please RSVP by responding to the email sent out only by May 28th.

Please indicate the number of adults & children under 10 coming so that we may plan accordingly.
